Tuesday 14th August
Very hot sunny day. We spent morning in flat tidying, washing and getting most of our gear back into suitcases.
Then off on Overground train to Hampstead Heath to visit 2 National Trust properties nearby, the first was 2 Willow Rd, near bottom of the Heath which is a 1960’s house however we hadn’t scrolled down far enough on website to see it was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays!!  So then walked up to top of the Heath, through some very interesting and very old roads to visit another National Trust property, Fenton House, and of course discovered it was also closed Monday and Tuesday. Met woman from NZ with small grandson looking for kids playground so sent her off in direction of Willow Rd as there was good one there.

Decided to walk back to West Hampstead as all downhill from there, interesting streets and houses again plus a turn around the WH cemetery and through Fortune Green to top end of West End Lane.

Pretty done by end of this hot afternoon walk so had to spend an hour in the pub on the way home.
