Tuesday 11th September 2012 Paziols,
France
Today Helen, Rod, Lyndsay and I were let loose to
drive to a town called Collioure, which
is quite close to the Spanish border, about
1 ½ hr drive from Paziols.
However the TomTom had another fit over the D117 being closed and again using
real and Google maps to get us to the
coast, we eventually arrived in Collioure after about 2 ½ hours driving but then had good fortune
and some brave car park guarding by Lynds to get a park right by the beach.
However it was all worth it as this town is truly delightful.
We had a wonderful long lunch at an open air restaurant overlooking the harbour,
With fantastic food
had a walk around the town,
pleasant swim in the sea and headed off home uneventfully by different route which avoided going anywhere near D117
