Saturday 8th September 2012  Nice to Sete France

After breakfast at Star Hotel (very good breakfast, baguette, mini croissants, pain au chocolate, pain au raisin and coffee with hot milk) and getting bags packed ready to leave, Philippe and Maura and their boy Leon came to meet us and we all went on the tram to the Saturday market.

We wandered around there for about 1 ½ hours looking at all the amazing foods and flowers on display and had a generally nice time with them. Plus Philippe gave us a giant sized jar of the fig jam !!

About noon we headed  down coast expecting TomTom to take us on to main motorway but she took us through all sorts of back roads until we stopped and reset it.

Arrived in Sete about 5 pm after all that fiddling around . Our hotel ( LeTriton 2 star) here was rather jaded to say the least, the weeds around the driveway being the first indication. Bed was fine and  swimming pool was ok though and there was free parking on site.

Walked down and had pizza for dinner in pleasant small restaurant, conversation with nice young  German couple with their baby  ( man was there managing his elderly aunt’s vineyard during the harvest)  and watched the fog suddenly start rolling in.
