Saturday 1 September 2012
Woke to grey morning here, Lele and Augusto set off to island near Cinque Terre for a weeks holiday leaving us in capable hands of Valentina, their prospective daughter in law, for breakfast. Also the house dog, Picolo, a small white dog gets very sad when Lele goes out so has to be minded to prevent him going in search of her.

Then set off early for Greve in Chianti, the biggest town in this area about a ½ hr drive away for the Saturday market. Bit of tiki tour around town as missed carpark first time around ( Helen driving today!) Mixture of locals and tourists, sells essentials like socks and underwear, pork meat sliced off a whole roast pig carcass, beautiful leather goods, fantastic pastries and bread. Bought a few gifts for people here.

Back to Radda for Lynds to buy olive wood spoon, hit up cash machine again and back to Canvalle for lunch then long siesta as bit damp outside. Some quite good rain this afternoon falling on already wet ground.

Bit of a problem this evening when no water in bathroom, so had to resort to water from swimming pool in a bucket to flush the loo and only drink wine.

Turns out that the electrical storm on Friday probably knocked out the water pump so we are waiting for Enrico to come and fix it.
