Sunday 20th

All off in the car to DuPont Circle, spent some time in the park by the fountain and also the Farmers market in the street. We then went on to the Phillips Gallery nearby, an interesting small private gallery in a converted house, elegant and interesting collection. Michael and May then met us for a brief foray into the Smithsonian Natural History Museum –needs about 2 days to do it justice-2 specific things of interest, the Hope Diamond and the new display in the geology section about the rescue of the Chilean miners last year. They have the cage the rescuers used to bring the miners up one by one. Fascinating.
