Slow
start, got washing done and all hung out on racks thoughtfully provided on each
verandah, nice walk around the port watching fishermen cleaning and folding
nets neatly and old town with shops open.
There is
what looks like a lock gate at entrance to marina right in middle of town which
I think is intended as a storm surge protector
as river runs right down through middle of town and could easily get
flooded with right combination of river level and storm surge.
Some
beautiful chocolates in form of various fruits in chocolatier shop window..
Sat in
café drank coffee and watched world go by, including man wearing the Basque
clogs.
Later
after siesta, I had a swim at beach in afternoon after it had clouded over, the
water nice temperature but a bit windy by then with some dumping waves so I
took away half the sand on the beach in my togs.
Helen
and Rod cooked dinner in oven in kitchen in our apartment, very nice roast
chicken etc and enough left over for great lunch next day in fresh baguette.
