Friday 28 September 2012 Llanes to Bilbao
Took the
back roads again wending our way from bay to bay along the coast.
Stopped
in town called Camillos where men were cutting
hay up on hillside above sea probably to avert fire risk. Lyndsay, Helen and I
walked down to sea here while Rod explored cemetery across the road. Had lunch ( nice
chicken rolls from previous night’s dinner) on bench near yacht club .
Arrived
in Bilbao about 3pm and Mrs Tom Tom took us straight to the door of our hotel,
the Hotel Sirimiri close to river and at end of the tram line.
We
bought what we thought was a 10 trip ticket on the tram ,had difficulty validating but continued and went
to the end of line, walked through long avenue down to river, getting a bit
cool here so each bought new jumpers in Chinese shop for €3.95 each, big
spenders !. Saw the lovely little electric Renault Twizy that I had seen in
Soria in showroom, back on tram, which has grass along line as well like Nice
and Barcelona, to last stop right opposite our hotel
Dinner
in old town, beans were great.
