Sunday 1st July Dunoon
Both slept until 10 am, unheard of for years, and then lounged around and
gossiped with Katie much of the day after lovely breakfast. Bit of shopping to
prepare for survival in Youth Hostels in coming week (red wine, 3 different
sorts of local beer as well as the Bushmills and a few green veges!) and quick
trip up to Inverchaolin Cemetery but no further progress on Curries there.
Headed off about 5.30 pm up to Katies friend Kirsty’s house, a country manor
house from 1737 ( true its inscribed over the doorway!) where we spent a pleasant
few hours under an outdoor shelter by a BBQ fire with bubbly and nibbles and
good conversation. Needed to be well wrapped up as a bit chilly.
