Saturday 7th July Random Thoughts -Post Boxes, Telephone
boxes and bilingual signs
Couple of interesting observations
Post Boxes –I have noticed that there are quite a few older style red cast
iron post boxes still in use in England and Scotland mostly in rural areas and
often set into a wall. Some date from Queen Victoria times with VR on front (
corner of Willie and Katies St in Dunoon), some are GR and some ER, Post Box St Agnes Cornwall |
Postbox Dungarven Scotland |
Phone boxes-still lots of red phone boxes with functional phones in rural areas in Scotland but havent taken photos of any of them.
Road signs
Many of the road signs in the Highlands are in Gaelic as well as in English
