Monday 28th May London
Beautful clear sunny morning,
breakfast outside in Courtyard at YHA. Took tube to West Hampstead, walked down
West End Lane to check out access to flat we have rented for Olympics in
July/August, bit disappointed because
place looks a bit scruffy from outside
front of house and bit of rubbish in front yard –seems to be 6 flats but
uncertain which one is Nickys. Then caught the 139 bus from stop just across
road right through central London absolutely awash with Union Jack flags to
Waterloo Station. Checked out the Union Jack Club for next week, had a chat with
some homeless people in the local churchyard and looked at mosaic bench with
names of all homeless people who have died there. Walked across Waterloo Bridge
to Covent Garden, checked out some stalls, listened to opera singer busking
watched acrobat, street theatre and went thru lots of little lanes, spent an
hour in the cool in a pub, black beer for H and pear cider for
L. Back to Earls Court on tube, sausages, spuds and broccoli for dinner and
crashed into bed.
